Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, collaborating with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals, and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager or Director, the Project Manager must manage the diverse priorities of project team members, communicating clearly to resolve issues while respecting project scope, schedule, and budget constraints. The Project Manager ensures all phases of project activities comply with government and ministry legislation, policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures. A key component of this position is working with stakeholders and industry to achieve results, requiring extensive professional knowledge of project management principles.

The primary responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

  • Directly managing the delivery of assigned projects including new schools, courthouses, health, and other capital projects.
  • Defining project requirements with clients and coordinating the in-house activities of team members, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensuring project scope, time, cost, and quality objectives are met.
  • Ensuring all phases of project activities comply with government and ministry legislation, policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
  • Working with stakeholders and industry to achieve results, requiring extensive professional knowledge of project management principles.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Post-secondary degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field supplemented by at least 4 years of project management experience with the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of health facilities.
  • Contract management experience, and considerable experience managing interdisciplinary teams and resources.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.

Hours of work: 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours a week
Location: Calgary, Edmonton, or Red Deer

Term of Employment: This competition will be used to fill multiple positions-Temporary Full Time, Permanent Full time.

Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
