Your Role:

We are currently searching for a Civil/Structural Engineer-In-Training to join our team in Calgary. You will work under the supervision of the Civil/Structural Engineering Manager along with other engineers, designers, and support staff.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform structural analyses and design of industrial structures including buildings, equipment supports, pipe supports, and foundations with or without the aid of computer software.
  2. Support engineering design per applicable codes and standards, including review of cross-discipline design drawings.
  3. Development of engineering work packages, contract documents, and other project-related documentation as required.
  4. Develop material takeoffs and support with project specifications.
  5. Perform site visits and provide construction support, including assessment of existing client assets.
  6. Effective use of QA tools and completes checklists and submits them to the project lead as required.
  7. Adherence to all health and safety policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  2. Active Member-in-Training status in Alberta.
  3. Experience with industrial structural engineering is an asset.
  4. Project coordination capabilities with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget is an asset.
  5. Experience in using structural analysis/design software (STAAD Pro and S-Frame).
  6. Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Navisworks, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  7. Exposure to Civil 3D and Civil earthwork design or construction is an asset.
  8. Working knowledge of the requirements of CSA Standards A23.1 and A23.3 Concrete Materials and Methods of Concrete Construction / Design of Concrete Structures, as well as CSA S16 Design and Construction of Steel Structures.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
  10. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at multiple levels including project stakeholders and clients.
