Our valued public sector client is looking to hire a Sr Wide Area Network Design Architect (Secret cleared) to Perform integration of Network Infrastructure, Gateways, applications, and security areas for the classified domains for a federal govt client.


Background:


Within DND, the various classified systems range from Secret and above. Each of these systems provides nearly identical services and each has an associated support infrastructure. These classified systems form a component of a highly integrated information environment. This level of integration brings about new challenges by significantly increasing the technical complexity, interdependency, and criticality of Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) systems. This results in a heightened requirement to execute proper systems engineering on all the systems and sub-systems within DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).


Tasks:


  • Perform integration but not be limited to Network Infrastructure, Gateways, applications, and security areas for the classified domains;
  • Analyze new requirements and capability deficiencies and conduct options analysis for the systems/sub-systems, including alternate options. Provide a report with recommendations on the best solution;
  • Provide expertise on C4ISR Wide Area Network (WAN) applications and protocols including implementation and maintenance;
  • Assist in the implementation of WAN test environments;
  • Review and comment on the design, test and implementation documentation produced for each system in order to ensure consistency with the overall system and network design and configuration specifications;
  • Perform 3rd and 4th line problem resolution to issues related to network services such as network equipment (routers, switches, crypto, firewalls, gateways, proxies, filters, etc.);
  • Develop, review, modify and maintain Systems Design Specifications (SDS) according to the client’s documentation standards;


Must haves:


  • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP); Open Shortest Path First (OSPF); Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS); Multipoint Generis Routing Encapsulation (mGRE);Virtual Private Networks (VPN); Multicast; Quality of Service (QoS) - 10 years
  • IOS-XE and Cisco IOS - 10 years
  • 5EYES, CAN/US, Canadian eyes - 2 years
