Your New Employer

Your new employer’s strategy is to create value by enhancing and optimizing its portfolio through accretive acquisitions, strategic development and active property management. Their principal tenant is one of Canada's largest retailers. This strong alliance positions them well for future growth.

A commitment to continuous learning and development is a strong part of their culture.

Your New Role

The role involves leading project team meetings, and directing and coordinating project activities to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget. This position is based in their Calgary office with travel across Western Canada up to 30%.

Initiating, building, and coordinating budgets is a key responsibility, ensuring that all deliverables are achieved within the agreed schedule and budget. Monitoring deliverables closely and communicating any issues that may impact the team's delivery to senior management is crucial for maintaining project momentum.

Ongoing troubleshooting and resolution are essential, requiring partnerships with internal resources to seek effective solutions. Consistent collaboration with project teams and internal stakeholder groups is necessary to ensure alignment and progress.

Participation in design, site, real estate, and development meetings is required, with responsibilities that include attending and generating meeting minutes.

As projects are near completion, managing project close-out processes is critical. This involves recording drawings, file management, handling O&M manuals, tenant possession and inspections, tenant documentation, and utility coordination.

General project administration encompasses tasks such as invoice processing, project cost tracking and forecasting, change management, project tracking updates, and file management throughout the preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.

What Sets You Apart

Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years of working experience, coupled with a post-secondary degree or education in a construction, architectural, or engineering-related field. Experience in commercial construction and renovation and a solid understanding of basic building systems, building codes, and construction procedures.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, alongside excellent customer service attributes. A positive disposition and a can-do attitude are critical for success in this role. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to effectively manage timelines and budgets to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives. Previous experience in developing detailed project plans using project management tools and methodologies is also required.

Superior planning and execution skills are a must, along with strong analytic, problem-solving, and judgment capabilities. The ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions at all levels of the organization is crucial. Experience with process redesign, process mapping, and documentation is highly valued, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and changing work environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, while knowledge of JDE and AutoCAD is preferred. Additionally, candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel across Western Canada as needed.

What You Can Expect
