Job Description:

  • This role involves a variety of tasks, including documenting the current state, application planning, data management, and workflow documentation.
  • The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination in gathering and validating business requirements.
  • The position requires strong collaboration with Health Application Services Technical Strategists and support teams to identify and document requirements related to implementing a provincial CIS.
  • The role also involves performing gap analysis and developing functional design documents for migration and data archiving.
  • The work will be a mixture of steady-state and project-based efforts, with some after-hours and weekend work required. Proficiency in English is necessary, and knowledge of French is considered an asset.


Mandatory Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare, or a similar discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Senior Business Analyst responsible for requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation.
  • 5 years of demonstrated financial system support experience focusing on Canadian health information systems, standards, technology, and/or software.
  • 3 years of demonstrated Meditech financial suite experience including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing and Accounts Receivable, and Materials management.


Scored Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Senior Business Analyst responsible for requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation.
  • Facilitation skills: demonstrated experience in leading workshops to identify and articulate business requirements, and system requirements, and develop user stories or use cases.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and producing business analysis documentation (E.g., business requirements, patient journeys, functional specifications, process diagrams, requirements traceability, SOPs, test plans, and test cases).
  • Demonstrated experience working with a high level of self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently engage and collaborate with project team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams) in the work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with the integration of financial and clinical information systems.
  • Verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills in both French and English are strongly preferred.
