Role Description - Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Acheson, A.B.

Westvac Industrial Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Acheson, AB. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy equipment. Some of your duties will include:

  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshoot on a range of industrial equipment.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Service equipment attachments and components, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe working condition, adhering to manufacturer specifications.


Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment components, parts, and tools weighing up to 50 lbs. Push /pull up to 1500 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and climbing heavy equipment for inspection and repairs.
  • Working at heights with Fall Protection on heavy equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for efficient troubleshooting.
  • Tolerance for occasional exposure to environmental elements during work.
  • Electronic Logging Device (ELD) use is required.
  • Commitment to safety protocols, related training, and PPE usage.


Compensation

Compensation is competitive, dependent on prior experience and certifications and will be discussed with selected candidates. A Heavy Equipment Mechanic role can range from $31.00 - $40.00 hourly for Apprentices, from $43.00 - $50.00 for On–Road, and $40.00 - $45.00 for Off-Road.
