We are currently seeking a highly motivated Cost Analyst to join one of our valued clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in costing and financial analysis, particularly within the manufacturing industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update bills of materials, including labor and overhead allocations.
  • Oversee financial aspects of quality deductions and shipping chargebacks.
  • Collaborate with logistics and materials teams to optimize freight spend and inventory management.
  • Administer capital assets, including tracking purchases, reconciliations, and depreciation.
  • Reconcile prepaid expenses and various other expenses such as labor, overhead, and S&A.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through offsetting revenue generation, government grants, and other methods.
  • Analyze and explain cost variances to divisional management and prepare financial analyses for current and prospective projects.
  • Assist in month-end financial reporting, annual budget preparation, and quarterly reforecasting.


Requirements:

  • University degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA or other relevant professional accounting/financial designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in costing, financial analysis, or audit.
  • Proficiency in managing bills of materials within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead projects and work cross-functionally with various departments.
