Embedded Software Business Architect

We are looking for an experienced and passionate engineer in embedded software development processes to fill the position of mechatronics process architect. Reporting to the manager of mechatronic processes, the candidate will play a key role in the implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) as well as the tools necessary for product development. The ideal candidate must have very strong skills in communication and collaborative work, and have experience in the development of embedded software as well as in the processes that support it.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Understand and document the software development processes in place.
  • Identify required improvements based on industry best practices such as ASPICE.
  • Identify and understand the tools required to support development as well as participate in their deployment and integration.
  • Assess needs, ensure preparation and execution of the training and integration strategy for development teams.
  • Perform process reviews to ensure compliance and make adjustments if necessary.
  • Collaborate with other process team members to harmonize and integrate methodologies.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, computer science, software or other related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in the development and/or validation of embedded software (preferably in the fields of motorized vehicles or transportation).
  • Be very comfortable in an environment where the solutions are not known and where the path is not mapped out.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders, demonstrate autonomy, initiative and have a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills in English and French: The English language requirement is required for the position since you will have to exchange and document processes that will be used by other divisions internationally. French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of vehicle design processes, requirements management software and ALM are assets.
