Le concepteur mécanique travaille au sein du service de conception d'Axis, qui est dirigé par le responsable de la conception mécanique et du développement de produits.

Le travail consiste à aider au développement de luminaires d'éclairage pour les segments de marché nord-américains des bureaux, du commerce de détail, des soins de santé, de l'hôtellerie et des institutions. Doit être capable de suivre un processus de développement de produits. Un talent créatif en matière de conception qui peut fournir des idées novatrices pour les luminaires AXIS.

Tâches spécifiques

  • Participer avec les concepteurs principaux à la définition des grandes lignes de la conception et à la recherche de produits concurrents
  • Contribuer à l'identification des besoins des principales parties prenantes, y compris la production, les ventes, les spécifications et l'installation
  • Contribuer à la création de concepts préliminaires pour examen
  • Exploration des matériaux et des processus
  • Développement de concepts initiaux
  • Créer des maquettes et des croquis pour étudier les formes et les proportions

- Maquettes physiques

- Modèles CAO bruts

  • Participer aux tests préliminaires de rendement d'éclairage pour valider l'efficacité du luminaire
  • Communiquer avec les concepteurs, la production et les partenaires extérieurs sur les détails techniques et la faisabilité du produit
  • Développement technique du produit avec le soutien de l'équipe de conception mécanique
  • Création de pièces et d'assemblages à l'aide du processus de conception pour la fabrication et l'assemblage
  • Création de nomenclatures et d'estimations de coûts
  • Analyse des risques des concepts de produits
  • Coordonner avec l'équipe de graphisme et de documentation pour préparer le matériel de marketing, les instructions d'installation et les spécifications
  • Participer à la préparation de la documentation interne pour la production et les dessins d'atelier
  • Création de modèles et de dessins d'assemblage et de pièces
  • Supervision de l'échantillon
  • Test et vérification dimensionnelle des assemblages et des pièces

Qualifications

Scolarité : baccalauréat en génie mécanique ou équivalent

Expérience : 2+ ans d'expérience dans la conception de produits

Logiciels: Solidworks, AutoCAD, Suite Adobe, Office. Un atout serait une compréhension de l'analyse par éléments finis pour la conception de la charge et thermique et du logiciel Ray Trace comme Photopia pour la conception optique

Autre :

Un sens aigu du graphisme et de l'esthétique, de bonnes capacités de communication

Une solide compréhension des techniques de fabrication et d'assemblage, y compris la tôle, les extrusions et le moulage sous pression

Connaissance de l'éclairage, un atout

Capacité à travailler en équipe

Compétences avérées en matière de gestion de projet

Doit être souple et capable d'effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois

General Description of the Role:

The Mechanical Designer works in the Axis Design Department which is directed by the Manager of Mechanical Design and Product Development.

Work involves assistance in the development of lighting luminaires for the North American office, retail, healthcare hospitality and institutional market segments. Must be able to follow a product development process. A creative design talent that can provide innovative ideas for AXIS luminaires.

Specific Tasks:

  • Participate with senior designers in the design outline definition and research competitive products
  • Assist in the Identification of the needs of key stakeholders including production, sales, specification and installation
  • Assist on the creation of preliminary concepts for review
  • Exploration of materials and processes
  • Development of primary concepts
  • Create mock-up and sketches to study form and proportion.

-Rough CAD models

  • Assist in preliminary lighting performance tests to validate the efficiency of the fixture.
  • Communicate with the Designers, production, and outside partners about technical detailing and feasibility of the product.
  • Technical development of the product with support from the Mechanical Design team.
  • Creation of parts and assemblies using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly process.
  • Creation of Bills of Material and cost estimates
  • Risk analysis of the product concepts
  • Coordinate with graphics and documentation team to prepared marketing material, installation instructions and specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal documentation for production and Shop drawings
  • Creation of Assembly/Part Models and drawings.
  • Sample supervision
  • Testing & Dimensional Verification of Assemblies and parts

Qualifications:

Education : B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience : 2+ years' experience in Product design.

Software : SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Office. An asset would be an understanding of Finite element analysis for Load/thermal design and Ray Trace software like Photopia for optical design.

Other:

A strong graphic and aesthetics sense, good communication skills:

A solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques including sheet metal, extrusions, and die-casting molding.

Knowledge of lighting is an asset

Ability to work in a team setting

Demonstrated project leadership skills

Must be flexible and able to multitask.
