A Member of Parliament is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Constituency Caseworker position.


As a Constituency Caseworker in a diverse and urban community, you will manage and resolve issues on behalf of constituents by liaising with other federal government departments and services. Your colleagues are collaborative, motivated and strive to provide the best services in both official languages to their constituents.


Job Description


  • Maintain the case management structure including file management and prioritization;
  • Advocate for constituents in need of support from federal government programs;
  • Understand current guidelines, legislation, and services offered by federal government programs;
  • Establish relationships with key contact points to resolve matters quickly and effectively;
  • Assist with the management of office and administrative tasks such as media presence, community events, processing mail and email etc.;
  • Attend events and meetings with or on behalf of the Member of Parliament and staff.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in political science, business administration or a related field or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Significant experience (one to five years) of casework management;
  • Significant experience in managing multiple, simultaneous activities or events in a fast-paced and fluid environment;
  • Experience working with a Member of Parliament or a political office;
  • Experience prioritizing and maintaining relationships with multiple clients by exhibiting strong attention to detail, adaptability, and analytical skills;
  • Significant experience working in an office setting with autonomy and professionalism;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.

Schedule: Full time (37.5 hours). Regular office hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
