Your New Role

As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a pivotal role on the team. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare accurate and timely full-cost estimates for projects, regardless of their size or complexity. From conceptual designs to general tender work, your expertise will be essential. You’ll meticulously analyze proposals, plans, and specifications to estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs, ensuring that our bids remain competitive and profitable. In addition, you’ll maintain a robust network of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Your negotiation skills will come into play as you secure the best prices, fostering strong partnerships within the industry. Another crucial aspect of your role is conducting special studies to refine cost data. By identifying trends and proposing enhancements, you’ll reduce discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Effective communication will be key. You’ll consult with clients, vendors, and colleagues to formulate accurate estimates, resolving any issues that arise. Lastly, analyzing completed projects—comparing estimated costs to actuals—will allow you to learn from discrepancies and recommend improvements with our clients.


What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for someone with previous estimation experience in the electrical field. (Bonus points if you had your Red Seal & Have Accubid). Practical knowledge of field requirements and restrictions and have experience in gathering and compiling data accurately. Competence in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Skilled at speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.
