We are seeking a highly motivated sales professional to join our sales team and manage the growth of our Western Canadian Territory. The ideal candidate will be based in Edmonton, AB working out of their home office and will be prepared to travel throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

Position Profile and Description:

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Territory Manager will maintain, manage and develop existing accounts while capturing new business opportunities at prospective new accounts using a consultative selling process. The successful Territory Manager will be a “hunter” by nature and grow business within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Agriculture, Mining, Food & Beverage, Academic, Industrial, Energy, Environmental, Clinical and Government sectors in the assigned territory.

Duties, Responsibilities, Authorities:

  • Perform in person and virtual sales calls with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Prospect and establish new customers
  • Work alongside sales management to maintain pricing within the territory to control profitability
  • Prepare accurate sale forecast reports
  • Overnight travel is expected, approximately 5 nights per month.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • College or post-secondary degree, chemistry or science related discipline preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in B2B territory/account management
  • Experience working with CRM such as Odoo, Salesforce or Hubspot
  • Experience territory planning and regular sales reporting
  • Experience working in the chemical or laboratory industry
  • Experience with pricing strategy, negotiation and proposal generation
  • Strong Interpersonal and Relationship Development skills
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English
  • Holder of a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to time manage, remain organized and prioritize work
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy ensuring positive customer outcomes
  • A self-starter who is enthusiastic, dependable and results oriented, with keen willingness to learn and improve on existing skill set
