Mitel Appoints Bill Dunnion as Chief Information Security Officer

Mitel, a leading global provider of business communications solutions, has announced the appointment of Bill Dunnion as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In his new role, Dunnion will be responsible for overseeing Mitel’s information security strategy, security architecture, and compliance with security standards. He will also lead efforts to assess, develop, and implement industry best practices for security throughout Mitel.

With over twenty years of progressive experience spanning various industries, Dunnion brings a profound understanding of IT, cybersecurity, and risk management to Mitel. His expertise encompasses cybersecurity trends, adherence to security standards and frameworks, and identification of emerging business risks.

Prior to joining Mitel, Dunnion held IT and cybersecurity leadership roles at Calian Ltd., 2Keys Security Solutions, and Bell Canada. In his most recent position as Senior Director of Corporate Cybersecurity at Calian, he oversaw the development, implementation, and operation of the company’s cybersecurity program. He successfully aligned the program with the NIST framework and ensured compliance with ISO and SOC2 standards.

Dunnion holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and serves as a volunteer chair of the Canadian Cyber Forum in Ottawa.
