As a Senior Media Associate, you will be responsible for working with the Media Manager in mining for and developing insights to implement strategic media planning processes, executing paid media buying responsibilities across print, radio and broadcast media, and supporting with oversight of the team on a day to day basis.

We operate in a fast-paced, agile environment - which means wearing many hats, being able to change direction quickly, and showing an eagerness to learn new best practices as the need arises. The role requires people who can prioritize, multitask, and deliver.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Understand marketplace dynamics/conditions and gain deeper understanding of client’s business (sales, competitors, targets)
  • Actively participate in delivering strategic insight into 360 plan development and manage (plan) process
  • Ensure utilization of all research tools and provide strategic analysis/insight of media
  • Execute media buying across a range of channels including but not limited to print, radio, television, connected TV, OOH, and premium digital networks
  • Collaborate with internal and external agency partners and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders
  • Lead and motivate team members and be willing to delegate, provide guidance and monitor their work, help set priorities, be a readily accessible resource and provide regular feedback
  • Reinforce company’s values and culture
  • Foster client relationships, demonstrate leadership abilities
  • Set realistic client expectations and make every effort to exceed them by delivering work in a timely and responsive manner
  • Collaborate with and guide Media Associates and Interns to coordinate cross-platform campaigns.
  • The ability to clearly articulate a problem and make suggestions on a path forward.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 4-6 years of media-specific experience at a brand or agency
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma specific to media/advertising
  • Organized, digitally oriented, and platform agnostic, with a strong understanding of traditional and digital media
  • Experience with advocacy and B2B marketing and communications.
  • Proven media buying expertise across multiple paid media channels (traditional, social, programmatic, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the Canadian paid media landscape and vendor opportunities
