Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing group in Guelph, ON The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the safe and efficient assembly/fabrication of our industrial water systems according to quality systems and specifications.

Responsibilities
  1. Must work in a safe manner and comply with all safety procedures
  2. Maintain housekeeping standards that adhere to Clean Room Protocol
  3. Position, install, and secure all sub-components into various pieces of equipment as per appropriate drawings
  4. Operate a wide variety of machinery as part of the manufacturing processes (e.g., welding machines, torches, pipe/conduit/tube benders, grinders, drills, etc.)
  5. Fabricate, assemble, and hydro-test PVC, PP, and PVDF pipe spools
  6. Perform self-inspection to verify that all components are installed, tested, and match applicable drawings and sign QA documentation
  7. Perform paint touch-ups where required to ensure product quality
  8. Package all equipment to meet shipping requirements (i.e., overseas vs. domestic)
  9. Must be able to work the first shift or the second shift
  10. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications / Requirements:
  1. Ability to assemble equipment to assembly process drawings
  2. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude: must be proficient in understanding basic pipe and skid layout and assembly
  3. Demonstrated high-quality work, initiative, and the ability to work unsupervised at times
  4. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and assist with training peers/contractors
  5. Experience in PVC pipe welding is an asset. Experience in structural welding is an asset
  6. Preference will be given to previous experience in the manufacturing of large water treatment equipment
  7. Able to stand for extended periods, lift 50 lbs, and walk, bend, and climb stairs on a frequent basis
  8. Must be able to work 1st shift (6:45 am-3 pm)
  9. Must be able to work overtime as required
  10. Strong sense of urgency and initiative
