Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to ensure compliance with quality standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, supplier management, and customer-specific requirements. This role requires expertise in problem-solving methodologies, auditing, and process control to support production and maintain high-quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure the quality of incoming materials and outgoing Finished Engineered Material (FEM) meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Support and participate in PPAP & PSO activities.
  • Lead or assist in warranty returns, reporting, and analysis, ensuring timely customer response.
  • Perform and coordinate internal audits and LPA (Layered Process Audits).
  • Oversee document control & system maintenance related to quality management.

Process Control & Improvement

  • Conduct Process Product / Capability Performance monitoring (e.g., GR&R, MSA, SPC).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (CI) and root cause analysis for quality concerns.
  • Monitor and control change management processes to minimize risks.
  • Participate in creating a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.

Supplier & Customer Relations

  • Conduct supplier evaluations and handle supplier quality claims.
  • Interface with customers to ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) and maintain high customer quality performance.
  • Ensure computer/internet access to customer portals and required applications.
  • Coordinate containment activities and provide service to non-directed and directed suppliers as needed.

Equipment & Calibration

  • Oversee and support the calibration plan and adjustment of assembly devices.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
  • Support production teams with quality monitoring and issue resolution.


Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Grade 12 OSSD and Post-Secondary Education in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Official CMM training preferred.
  • Experience with Chrysler Quality Management Systems (CQMS, EBSC) is an asset.

Professional Training & Certifications:

  • IATF 16949 / CSR Compliance
  • ISO 50001 & ISO 14001 Auditor Certification
  • Supplier Quality Management & Quality Auditing
  • Blueprint Reading & GD&T
  • APQP & PPAP Processes
  • 8D Problem-Solving Methodology

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Problem-solving expertise with hands-on experience in root cause analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in process capability monitoring, SPC, and Gage R&R analysis.
  • Ability to motivate teams, develop personnel, and manage performance.

Languages:

  • English (Required)
  • German (Preferred)


Work Environment & Expectations:

  • Production Authority: Has the authority to stop production for immediate safety or quality concerns.
  • Collaboration: Interface with production employees and ensure alignment with company goals.
