Summary:

The Health and Safety Manager’s role is to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of employees, contractors, visitors, and anyone else affected by Operations for multiple sites in the East Region. The role is primarily focused on creating and maintaining a safe work environment, preventing accidents, and complying with all relevant laws and regulations. critical in reducing workplace injuries and illnesses and improving productivity. Well versed in CNESST injury prevention and reporting. Occasional travel required within region. Fluent in French and English (as the position holder must communicate with stakeholders from outside the province).


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to Provincial and Federal OHS laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for all H&S related activities for new customer implementations
  • Provide expert advice for all workers compensations claims in conjunction with third party claims management company and HRBP’s
  • Continuous improvement of New Hire Health and Safety Orientation for all employees (including temporary workers)
  • Coordinate JHSC, First Aid and CPR, Forklift training for facilities.
  • Maintain master training matrix, ensure all required training is completed.
  • Create and implement workplace H&S Policies, Programs and Safe Operating Procedures.
  • Develop and distribute safety talks and ensure all employees have completed the training and update Safety Talks matrix.
  • Investigate all H&S accident/incident reports to find root cause and identify prevention measures to determine areas of improvement and trends.
  • Suggest solutions/improvements and prevention steps for all safety issues.
  • Provide monthly H&S reports/metrics to Management
  • Conduct Job Hazard Assessments and Physical Demands Analysis as needed.
  • Participate in corporate H&S audits, site visits and spot audits and provide input on improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions identified in audits.
  • Develop Team Leader/Supervisor Incident Investigation training, health and safety annual training with all employees
  • Maintain all Fire Safety Plans in partnership with Operations Teams.
  • Ensure all life safety devices are inspected and maintained (via vendor) (Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hoses, etc.)
  • Ensure all facilities conduct annual Fire Drills

Education & Experience:

  • University degree or college diploma
  • 5-7 years of health & safety experience in multi-site environment

Le rôle du gestionnaire de la santé et de la sécurité est essentiel pour réduire les blessures et les maladies sur le lieu de travail et pour améliorer la productivité. Excellente connaissance de la prévention et de la déclaration des blessures à la CNESST. Déplacements occasionnels requis dans la région. Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais (car le/la titulaire du poste doit communiquer avec des intervenants de l'extérieur de la province).

Responsabilites:

  • Veiller au respect des lois et réglementations provinciales et fédérales en matière de santé et de sécurité au travail.
  • Responsable de toutes les activités liées à la santé et à la sécurité lors de la mise en œuvre chez les nouveaux clients.
  • Fournir des conseils d'expert pour toutes les demandes d'indemnisation des travailleurs en collaboration avec la société de gestion des demandes d'indemnisation et les HRBP.
  • Amélioration continue de l'orientation en matière de santé et de sécurité des nouveaux embauchés pour tous les employés (y compris les travailleurs temporaires).
  • Coordonner les formations JHSC, premiers secours et RCP, chariot élévateur à fourche pour les installations.
  • Tenir à jour la matrice de formation principale et veiller à ce que toutes les formations requises soient suivies.
  • Créer et mettre en œuvre des politiques, des programmes et des procédures opérationnelles sécurisées en matière de santé et de sécurité sur le lieu de travail.
  • Élaborer et distribuer des exposés sur la sécurité, s'assurer que tous les employés ont suivi la formation et mettre à jour la matrice des exposés sur la sécurité.
  • Enquêter sur tous les rapports d'accidents/incidents de santé et de sécurité afin de trouver la cause première et d'identifier les mesures de prévention pour déterminer les domaines d'amélioration et les tendances.
  • Proposer des solutions/améliorations et des mesures de prévention pour tous les problèmes de sécurité.
  • Fournir à la direction des rapports/métriques mensuels sur la santé et la sécurité.
  • Procéder à des évaluations des risques professionnels et à des analyses des contraintes physiques, le cas échéant.
  • Participer aux audits de santé et de sécurité de l'entreprise, aux visites de sites et aux audits ponctuels, fournir des informations sur les possibilités d'amélioration et mettre en œuvre les mesures correctives identifiées lors des audits.
  • Développer la formation des chefs d'équipe/superviseurs en matière d'enquête sur les incidents, ainsi que la formation annuelle en matière de santé et de sécurité pour l'ensemble des employés.
  • Maintenir tous les plans de sécurité incendie en partenariat avec les équipes opérationnelles.
  • Veiller à ce que tous les dispositifs de sécurité des personnes soient inspectés et entretenus (par l'intermédiaire du fournisseur) (extincteurs, tuyaux d'incendie, etc.).
  • Veiller à ce que toutes les installations effectuent des exercices annuels d'évacuation en cas d'incendie.
