Role Overview:

The Director of E-Commerce is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and performance of Lug. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, optimizing customer experience, building a strong digital brand presence, and expanding the customer base. The ideal candidate has a strong mix of technical expertise, digital marketing acumen, UX/UI knowledge, and data-driven decision-making skills to maximize online sales.


  • Own and lead Lug digital sales channels, ensuring optimal performance, customer experience, and revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to increase traffic, conversion rates, and AOV (average order value).
  • Oversee branding, storytelling, and content to align with Lug’s overall brand strategy.
  • Lead all site merchandising, product launches, promotions, and content updates to optimize revenue.
  • Implement and manage marketing campaigns (email, paid media, SEO, social, affiliates, influencers, etc.) to drive site traffic and sales.
  • Manage and optimize the Shopify Plus platform, ensuring best practices for site performance, scalability, security, and integrations.
  • Optimize CRO (conversion rate optimization), personalization, and retention strategies.
  • Develop and oversee the DTC tech stack, ensuring seamless integration of Shopify, EDI, analytics tools, and any other third-party solutions.
  • Analyze site performance, KPIs, customer data, and user behavior to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure a flawless UX/UI experience, working with developers, designers, and marketers.
  • Build and lead an e-commerce team or collaborate with existing teams (marketing, operations, customer service, etc.).
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability for Lug digital.
  • Lead partnership initiatives, including affiliate programs, collaborations, and paid media campaigns.


Qualifications & Skill Sets:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in e-commerce leadership roles, ideally in DTC brands.
  • Proven experience with Shopify Plus (or equivalent platforms) and deep knowledge of its ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing (Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO, email, SMS, and affiliates).
  • Experience with CRO, UX/UI, personalization, and optimizing digital customer journeys.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills, comfortable with tools like Google Analytics, Klaviyo, Hotjar, and A/B testing platforms.
  • Experience managing and optimizing paid acquisition channelsto drive customer growth.
  • Strong understanding of customer retention, email marketing flows, and loyalty programs.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with designers, developers, and marketers.
  • Ability to forecast and manage budgets, revenue targets, and profitability metrics.
  • Track record of growing DTC e-commerce revenue and brand presence.
