Cardiac Sonographer

Summary: Georgian Cardiology is looking for a Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Medical Director and Director of Operations, this position requires performing Adult echocardiography, Stress echocardiography and imaging procedures. Duties Work independently performing Echos and stress Echos as per CCN protocol in a busy clinical environment. Obtain vitals, height and weight on all patients Contact physician if critical pathology noted as per policy. Evaluate different aspects of the heart, such as chamber size, valve function and blood flow. Using GE viewpoint software to create preliminary reports Review patient charts and be familiar with basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities. Inputting relevant patient information into GE S70. Prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation. Basic troubleshooting when required. Effective communication (written and verbal), organization and interpersonal skills Explaining procedures to patients in a kind and reassuring manner. Clean and maintain Ultrasound equipment. Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment. Demonstrate ability to effectively relate to client/patient population and possess exceptional bed side manners. Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position. Demonstrated ability to accept assigned or delegated functions. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence. Education, Training and Experience Graduate of a recognized program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Registered with CMRITO Certification in Cardiac Imaging and adult echocardiography. Follow complete protocol as per Cardiac Care Network requirements for perform adult sonography. Perform full protocol resting Echos and Stress Echos. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
