If you love building products from the ground up, thrive in an environment where you can take real ownership, and enjoy balancing leadership with hands-on technical work, this role is for you.Reporting to the CTO-and collaborating closely with our Director of IT and Solutions, COO, and Client Service leadership-you'll guide technical strategy, elevate execution, and empower a team of talented developers. You'll drive delivery, coaching, and coordination to ensure our products continue to scale and evolve with excellence.This role is designed for a leader who believes in strong engineering culture, clean architecture, and the power of mentorship. You'll be the go-to technical point of contact for the team and a key partner to the business.What You'll Do:Project Management & CoordinationLead client software development projects from kickoff to deliveryCollaborate with client service teams to gather requirements and set expectationsBreak down large initiatives into clear, trackable tasksBuild project schedules, identify risks, and coordinate resourcesOversee sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives, and project planningProactively remove blockers to keep projects movingTeam Leadership & DevelopmentProvide day-to-day direction and technical support to developersFoster a culture of collaboration, high standards, and continuous improvementChampion code reviews, clean architecture, and maintainable solutionsIdentify training opportunities and elevate the team's technical skill setTechnical ExecutionSpend 30-40% of your time coding, especially on complex or high-impact featuresMaintain and evolve our development processes, QA practices, and coding standardsTroubleshoot challenging technical issues alongside the teamEvaluate new tools, frameworks, and practices to boost efficiencyEnsure proper documentation across systems and decisionsStakeholder CommunicationAct as the bridge between business stakeholders and the development teamTranslate business goals into actionable development requirementsProvide regular updates to the CTO, Director of IT, and other leadersManage expectations around scope, timing, and resourcingQualifications5+ years of professional software development experience with deep knowledge of:.NET Framework & .NET CoreSQL Server (database design, optimization, stored procedures)React.js, TypeScriptRESTful API design & implementationStrong understanding of architecture patterns, design principles, and best practicesExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practicesComfortable with Agile/ScrumExperience working in on-prem environmentsFamiliarity with Windows services, background processing, and containerization (Docker)Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar PM toolsUnderstanding of security standards & complianceBachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldLeadership & Management2+ years leading or managing software development teamsProven success delivering multiple concurrent projectsStrong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordinationPassion for coaching developers and elevating technical talentCommunication & CollaborationClear and confident communicator across technical and non-technical audiencesStrong facilitation and conflict resolution skillsAbility to build trust with senior leadership, clients, and team membersApplyWe appreciate all applicants for their interest in joining Octacom.
