This role also supports health and safety administration, documentation, and compliance tasks. The position ensures workers receive timely, effective medical assistance while maintaining accurate records and supporting broader safety initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Response & TreatmentProvide emergency medical response in accordance with OFA Level 3 protocols and WorkSafeBC requirements.Assess injuries and illnesses, determine care needs, and coordinate transport to medical facilities when required.Maintain the first aid room, equipment, and supplies to regulatory standards.Manage daily injury logs, capabilities forms, and return-to-work documentation.Support modified duties planning based on medical capabilities.Incident SupportAssist in the reporting and documentation of workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses.Provide medical summaries for incident investigations when required.Participate in emergency response drills and contribute to ERP improvements.Safety Administration (CSO Support)Assist with data entry, document management, and safety records (e.g., Orientations, FLHAs, Permits, Training Records).Support the safety team in audits, inspections, and compliance tasks.Help maintain safety postings, safety boards, and communication materials.Workplace Inspections & Preventive Safety DutiesParticipate in site inspections to identify hazards related to worker health.Support hygiene sampling, exposure control checks, and return-to-work follow-up.Provide guidance on ergonomics, heat/cold stress, PPE, and other worker wellness topics.Compliance & ReportingEnsure all first aid reporting complies with WorkSafeBC OHSR and Part 3 requirements.Maintain confidentiality of medical information in accordance with legislation and company policy.Contribute to monthly safety statistics and reporting as required.QualificationsValid OFA Level 3 certificate or Paramedic license (EMR/PCP/ACP).Current CPR Level C or equivalent.Previous industrial, construction, or remote medical experience preferred.Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC OHSR, first aid requirements, and occupational health practices.Ability to make calm, informed decisions under pressure.Strong administrative and documentation skills.Core CompetenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong decision-making and critical thinking.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary safety team.High attention to detail, especially in documentation.Professionalism, confidentiality, and worker-centered care.Reporting StructureReports to: HSE Lead / Safety ManagerWorks closely with: Supervisors, CSOs, Workers, and First Aid Contractor (if applicable).
