Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) is a publicly funded charitable organization in the City of Hamilton which provides a spectrum of innovative and evidence-based, mental health services. We provide residential, day treatment, and community-based services including in-home and school-based programs to children, youth, and families within the community.Lynwood Charlton Centre is the Lead Agency for the Hamilton service area for Moving on Mental Health. This is a Ministry initiated plan to transform the experiences of children, youth and families dealing with mental health issues, and strengthen the community-based system for delivering mental health services to them. Through our Lead Agency role, we are responsible for leading and facilitating system reform in Hamilton. To do this, we work collaboratively with other child and youth mental health service providers, other affiliated community partners including our child welfare, health, and school board partners, and parents and youth engaged in our services.We are currently looking for a Psychologist to work from our Head Office in Hamilton. Though our preferred candidate is fluent in English and French, mastery of the French language is not required. Role Overview Directly reporting to the Clinical Director, the Psychologist is a valuable member of our multidisciplinary team, providing care to children and youth with complex mental health, behavioral and/ or developmental issues, and their families. The Psychologist conducts psychological assessments, clinical formulation, brief individual, group, and family intervention, treatment recommendations, and consultation to staff on psychology-related issues. The Psychologist is a leader in program development, quality assurance, and research initiatives across the Agency. Contribute to the conceptualization and formulation of treatment plans utilizing a wide range of evidence-based treatment modalities appropriate to the needs and strengths of children, youth, and families. Participate in a clinical team environment, including intake, implementation, program development and evaluation. Maintain clinical records, assessments and reports according to agency, program policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Document assessments, treatment plans, interactions, and interventions according to Agency guidelines and standards while adhering to the professional standards outlined by the regulatory college. Provide clinical leadership in the treatment planning process and evaluation of treatment outcomes. Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs. Facilitate training sessions for staff in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Program Managers. Other related duties as assigned. Experience/Skills and other Requirements Psychologist or Psychological Associate registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) with authorization to work with children, adolescents and families. Expertise in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (particularly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). A minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience working with families and children and/or youth in an inpatient or outpatient treatment/counselling setting. Demonstrated strength in consultation, teaching, inter-professional collaboration, and supervision of advanced learners. Demonstrated competency and experience in the administration and interpretation of psychological tests, particularly those tests relevant to the assessment of cognitive, academic, personality and socio-emotional functioning. Experience working with and developing intervention plans aimed to enhance client functioning within a home and community setting. Experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to set and achieve common goals. Experience with navigating and/or collaborating with other community systems. Knowledge of computers and word processing and specialized software to input/retrieve client data, prepare reports, evaluate testing and maintain case documentation and statistics. A valid G class drivers license, and reliable vehicle is required, as this role requires local work-related travel within Hamilton.
