Senior Azure Data Engineer

Job Overview:Global X Investments Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and automation of our Azure-based data infrastructure. This role focuses on building and maintaining robust ETL pipelines, ensuring data quality and reconciliation, and automating data feeds and workflows that power business applications and vendor integrations.While the core focus is on data engineering and process automation, the ideal candidate will also explore emerging opportunities to apply AI and LLM-powered tools (such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure OpenAI) to enhance efficiency, governance, and decision-making across the organization.About Us:Global X Investments Canada Inc. Global X is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mirae Asset Financial Group, which manages approximately $800 billion of assets across 19 countries and global markets around the world.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for ETL, transformation, and data movement.Develop and manage data feed automation between internal systems, websites, and external vendors.Implement data reconciliation and validation processes to ensure accuracy and integrity across datasets.Automate workflows using Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, and Azure Functions.Manage and optimize Azure SQL and related storage solutions for performance and scalability.Develop APIs and integrations using Azure Event Grid, Service Bus, and RESTful services.Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.Ensure compliance with cloud security and governance best practices.Experiment with Azure OpenAI, Copilot, and other LLM services to prototype intelligent automation, chatbots, and guided workflows.Preferred Skill Set:Expertise with Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Power Automate, and Power Apps.Strong proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and SQL.Experience integrating with enterprise platforms (Salesforce, SharePoint, Power Platform).Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for data projects.Solid understanding of cloud security, identity management, and governance frameworks.(Preferred) Exposure to AI services such as Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or chatbot frameworks.Skills & Experience:7+ years in data engineering, automation, or cloud development roles.5+ years working hands-on with Azure data services (ADF, Logic Apps, Functions).Proven experience building secure, scalable, and automated cloud-based data solutions.Demonstrated ability to manage data quality and reconciliation processes.Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills across technical and business teams.Experience applying AI tools for workflow automation or knowledge management.What We Offer: Competitive compensation packageA collaborative and supportive work environment Opportunities for professional development and growthThe opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the financial well-being of Canadian investorsGlobal X is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a respectful, welcoming and accessible environment for all people.
