Project Manager

Our client is a family-owned and operated HVAC and plumbing company with a strong reputation for quality work, teamwork, and integrity. They're looking for a Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, supporting a variety of ongoing projects within a collaborative and down-to-earth environment.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys taking ownership from start to finish, and takes pride in leading teams and building strong relationships on and off the job site. You'll manage multiple projects, visit active sites, and provide hands-on support to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.The successful candidate is confident yet approachable, communicates effectively, and can think on their feet to solve challenges as they arise. A proactive, self-directed personality and genuine commitment to teamwork will be key to success in this role.Duties and Responsibilities: The key job functions are:Oversee day-to-day project operations and provide guidance and support to field and office staffReview and interpret project contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure full understanding of scope and deliverablesConduct detailed material takeoffs and prepare orders ahead of project start-upCreate purchase orders for approval and ensure timely delivery of required materialsDevelop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress, milestones, and labour requirementsPrepare and process change orders, site instructions, and cost adjustments as neededManage project billing cycles, including monthly progress claims and monitoring cash flowCoordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standardsLiaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and clear communication throughout each projectParticipate in site meetings and provide updates on project status, risks, and resource needsIdentify potential challenges early and implement proactive solutions to avoid delays or cost impactsEducation:Red Seal in relevant industry is a strong assetQualifications: Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle to get to and from various work sitesMust be able to obtain a clear RCMP background checkExperience:3+ years of experience in Project Management is requiredExperience within Plumbing or HVAC is preferred, though experience in a related construction industry will also be consideredSkills:Excellent communication and people managementStrong time management and prioritization skillsAbility to work autonomously and lead multiple projects with competing timelinesConfident and composed when navigating stressful situations or resolving conflictsReliable and dependable - leads by exampleApproachable and available to support the team where neededFast learner who is self-directed and does not require micromanagementBase Salary: $90,000 - 120,000 per yearSalary based on experienceFull benefits package includedRRSPVehicle allowanceWork Hours:40 hours per weekMonday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pmSome overtime to be expectedAdditional Notes:This opportunity does not include relocation.
