Physician to a Clinical Associate

Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, is recruiting a physician to a clinical associate (CA) hospitalist locum to assist in providing care for medical inpatients admitted to the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology service. The role would involve primarily coverage of weekdays. This Clinical Associate Physician position includes direct care in the inpatient setting.
Provision of care will be to both Paediatric Haematology and Oncology patients. Responsibilities include participation in team meetings, maintenance of patient health records, dictations, signing off on reports and physicians orders in a timely manner and in accordance with the Division and LHSC health record policies. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will ensure a high level of professional competence of a physician. The successful candidate will be interacting with medical students and residents during the course of the locum, you will require a temporary appointment as an Adjunct/MD professor in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, as per Western University requirements.
The candidate MUST have a Medical Degree and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Experience and certification in Paediatrics or Paediatric Haematology/Oncology is considered an asset.
Candidates should possess outstanding clinical skills with demonstrated ability to work well with patients and their families, strong inter-professional skills in working in complex environments and commitment to a clinical academic sub-speciality environment will ensure your success in this role.
