About Bella Bella, BC

The village of Bella Bella can be found on the east coast of Campbell Island, in the Central Coast region of British Columbia. Just 180 kilometers north of Port Hardy and 145 kilometers west of Bella Coola, this vibrant community is the largest on the Central Coast north of Queen Charlotte Strait. About the Opportunity

The Hailika'as Heiltsuk Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Travelling Orthodontist to join our team in Bella Bella, British Columbia, on a contractual basis (4-6 times a year).

In this role, you will provide consultations and assessments, and work collaboratively with clients and dentists to determine orthodontic treatment plans and provide excellent orthodontic care. The schedule and hours of this role are flexible, and this role doesn't entail any overheads as all equipment and all staff will be provided by the Hailika'as Heiltsuk Health Centre Society.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct comprehensive orthodontic evaluations and develop customized treatment plans
Perform orthodontic procedures, including fitting braces, aligners, and other appliances
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary
Educate patients and their families on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
Collaborate with general dentists and other dental professionals to ensure coordinated care
About You

In order to qualify for this role, you must be a fully licensed Orthodontist with a completed Dental Degree (DDS/DMD) and be comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team. You must also be willing and able to travel into the community 4-6 times a year and accept Pacific Blue Cross Insurance. New graduates are also encouraged to apply.

As our ideal candidate for this role, you'll have a track record of success in working collaboratively with a team for the oral health of patients. Your strong communication skills will serve you well as you develop relationships with your patients. Your excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills will allow you to effectively manage your clients.
