US Tax Manager (Remote)

Employment Type: Permanent Location: Toronto, Ontario Job Description: Our client is part of a growing software company and is looking to add a US Tax Manager to their team. As the US Tax Manager, you will review, compile, and file US Federal, state, and local income tax returns for 70+ companies. You will also prepare and review quarterly tax provisions. This role will play an integral part of the overall US corporate tax function within the company. Responsibilities of the US Tax Manager include: - Review and preparation of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax returns, work-papers and related tax functions for the group, including cross-border tax compliance filings (Form 5471, 5472 and 8858) - Complete tax provisions and other accounting workbooks as part of our quarterly financial reporting process (knowledge of FDII, GILTI, BEAT, and Sec. 174) - Oversee communication with the various state tax authorities in connection with audits, notices of assessment, and information requests - Researching and advising on various U.S. corporate tax matters - Support Acquisitions team with tax due diligence and deal structure advice - Minimize tax liability through efficient and thorough application of current tax law in the filing of all returns TMGNY Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent years of experience. CPA certification or working towards obtaining certification preferred. Work Experience: 5+ years of experience working within the U.S. tax function of a large corporation or a public accounting firm. Experienced Microsoft Office product user. Experience with One Source software, or other tax accounting software. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Confident in working directly with state tax authorities. Analytical skill set with ability to work independently. Strong time management focus as key deadlines span the full year
