Communitech is a hybrid organization headquartered in downtown Kitchener, Ontario.

In-person connection is important to us, so we get together regularly for special events, collaboration days and team socials, and we ask our team members to work onsite from our Kitchener facility for a minimum of 60 hours per month, every Tuesday being our team-wide in person collaboration day.

We are seeking an experienced, self-directed, driven, and organized program management professional.

Reporting to the Director, Advance Technology Platforms you will help us deliver the Future of X programming for participants of the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) initiative for the Waterloo Regional Technology Development Site (RTDS) throughout Waterloo Region and across Ontario.


What you'll be doing:

  • Own relationships with external stakeholders startup founders, government, private sector and academia.
  • Support strategic initiatives and programs from development through to execution
collaboration with our internal and external stakeholders.

  • Liaise between Founder Services, Marketing and other Communitech teams to ensure alignment and partnership on programs
  • Facilitate the workflow of projects and/or initiatives endtoend within the Future of X program working with our project management team.
  • Work with the Director Data and Advanced Technologies to review and refine existing processes for intake, scheduling, and output across Founder Services/Business Development/Marketing/Communications/Events
  • Establish and implement new processes as required
  • Manage overall resourcing within the FoX program team to ensure the right people are assigned to the right projects at the right time.
  • Clearly and consistently communicate goals, responsibilities, performance expectations and feedback positively and collaboratively.
  • Be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and implementation of a wide range of FoX programs.
  • Ensure each project is running smoothly by anticipating and effectively dealing with project issues and potential roadblocks.
  • Lead the preparation of project documentation, schedules, and status reports, as well as provide project administrative support as required.
People Leadership

  • Work with team members to support the daytoday functional needs of Communitech and solve any issues that arise.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, support, and feedback.
  • Develop and manage team members and their professional development
  • Manage team budget.
  • Hire, mentor and advise employees.
  • Assign and evaluate work and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 4+ years of event project management experience. Project management (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • An aptitude for effective communication, collaboration, and a willingness to present others' ideas.
  • Experience facilitating collaborative partnerships and workshop sessions
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects involving crossfunctional teams and thirdparty vendors within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing briefing documents, defining project goals and objectives, identifying project risks, developing project timelines and budgets, and managing multiple milestones and deliverables.
  • You absolutely must be detailoriented and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Hey, if you love Google Sheets and Gantt Charts, that's not a bad thing
  • Understanding or experience working in an agile environment is a plus
