About the team:
Our Software Engineering team plays a central role in Jobber's success by creating software that adds value to thousands of users globally. We focus on maintaining our design system (for web and mobile) to boost our teams' efficiency and Jobber's scalability. Leveraging our frontend expertise, we aim to deliver a consistent user experience throughout Jobber.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with the Software Development team to build reusable solutions and an innovative product that supports our customers' success. We're seeking problem-solvers who can leverage their experience to shape our product and team, while advancing their own skills.
In this role, you'll champion best practices for robust, scalable, and well-structured code. You will also enhance team efficiency by customizing tools and processes, and mentor others to do the same.
Key responsibilities as a Senior Software Engineer:
- Enhance our core design system to facilitate faster and more consistent development of mobile and web products
- Advocate for the best practices of Design Systems across Jobber's engineering department
- Conduct code reviews, drive engineering solutions, and promote reusable code practices
- Lead group discussions to devise optimal solutions for our customers
- Promote best practices within your team's area of expertise
- Mentor junior team members to help them advance in their careers
Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in front-end software engineering for mobile and web applications
- Experience with Native app development, React, React Native, and Typescript, along with a solid understanding of front-end technologies
- Proven experience collaborating with designers to develop or contribute to a Design System
- Proficiency in integrating with GraphQL API and Mobile Observability tools
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and a commitment to delivering value consistently
- Critical thinking abilities, curiosity, and a proactive mindset
- Ability to self-direct, take initiative, and solve problems effectively
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and enhancing front-end implementations
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Bitrise, Runway, CircleCI
- Exposure to tech leadership roles
