The Carman is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of rail cars and their components as well as the inspection of trains upon their arrival and / or departure.

Responsibilities:
- Inspects rail cars and its components in accordance with the railway and company standards.
- Perform periodical, on demand or preventative inspections on railcar structures, frame, security components and others.
- Installs and repairs railway material, such as compressors, pneumatic systems, and others.
- Use of manual, electric and welding tools.
- Prepare inspection reports, for maintenance and repair, using approved spreadsheet which are in conformity to company standards.
- Assist with locomotive servicing and repair.
- Performs all other related tasks.
General Requirements:
- Must possess a high school diploma.
- Experience or a diploma in electro mechanics is an asset.
- Must possess a valid welder card (diploma in electric welding
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations: working hours, service calls, overtime, tasks to accomplish, outside of the work location, etc.
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Other working conditions:
