We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our client's dynamic team in Calgary, AB.

As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and systems.

You will collaborate closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet technical requirements and project goals.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Design Development:
Develop conceptual and detailed designs for mechanical systems and components using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).

Technical Drawings:
Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings, models, and schematics based on engineering sketches, specifications, and discussions.

Documentation:
Prepare and maintain documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), design calculations, and technical reports.

Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute to design solutions.


Prototyping and Testing Support:
Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototypes to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

Quality and Compliance:
Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, CSA) and meet quality and safety requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

Participate in design reviews, provide feedback for process improvement, and stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanical design.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.

Experience:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and familiarity with PLM software and ERP systems is advantageous.

Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Communication:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Adaptability:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Certifications:
Professional certifications (e.g., CET, P.Eng) are an asset.
