Little Prairie Elementary SchoolLittle Prairie Elementary School is located in Chetwynd, an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. We have approximately 220 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Grade 7.
Our school emphasizes building positive relationships, student leadership, and community connections.
Little Prairie Elementary School is well known for our excellent literacy framework, school wide exhibitions of learning and hands on inquiry-based learning.
Our curricular implementations fully commit to the core competencies of the BC Curriculum.Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate.
Experience teaching primary and intermediate/middle school/secondary students.
Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals.
Ability to use performance standards in the area of social responsibility.
Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques.
Experience teaching in a multiage group setting.
Training in teaching ELL students.
Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social and emotional learning difficulties.
Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the school improvement plan.Working knowledge of Criterion Based Referencing Assessment and Performance Based Assessment, and Balanced Literacy.

Up to $2,000 for out of district applicants (with submission of approved receipts).
~ A Great Benefit at Tax Time Regular part time employees' allowance will be prorated proportionate to the hours worked.
~ Remote and Rural Allowance:
Teachers working in School District No.
59 are eligible to receive a remote and rural allowance, which is both an adjustment to the salary grid and an annual allowance of approximately $2,519* per FTE.
Employees of School District No.If you lived in a prescribed intermediate zone (Zone B), you can claim:
50 for each day you lived in this zone if you maintained a dwelling and you are the only person claiming the basic residency amount for that period and dwelling.
