Your new role
Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll take the lead in overseeing our financial reporting processes.

This includes driving corporate accounting, managing regulatory and financial reporting, developing budget and forecast cycles, and enhancing our internal control systems.

You'll play a significant role in streamlining processes to enhance the efficiency and integrity of our financial operations.

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, analyze, and publish timely monthly and annual financial statements for executive decisionmaking.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal controls for compliance, data integrity, and corporate governance.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting accuracy.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity across financial operations.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors for yearend reviews and manage annual inventory counts, providing operational insights.
  • Document and update accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
  • Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • CPA designation (CMA, CGA, or CA) is REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of MANAGERIAL experience in financial reporting.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, procedures, legislation, yearend processes, and inventory management.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of accounting professionals.
  • Proven track record of streamlining and improving financial processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or retail industry (significant asset).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and periodically additional hours

What's In It for You?

We are proud to offer a competitive salary for this role in the range of $120,000 to $130,000 per year.

The actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal equity. This position includes extensive benefits coverage and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and successful team
