The Mid-Corp Relationship Manager is a strategic professional with experience in Banking Product sales, Credit/Financial risk management with market-relevant experience. *This position is based in Montreal*. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:
  • Originates prospect lists and drives closure of new Lending and Cash Management relationships for portfolio book building
  • Calls on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owns, responds to, uncovers and anticipates future needs, roadblocks or risks and expectations
  • Introduces solutions to clients in building and strengthening an effective portfolio;
  • Works with product specialists and subject matter experts to structure innovative and customized solutions that meet clients' individual needs
  • Works closely with Case Manager on the on-boarding and retention of clients, ensuring the appropriate "Know Your Client" (KYC) and other compliance deliverables are met;
  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet;
  • Maximizes client experience by proactive sharing markets updates, trend and intelligence
  • Drives innovation in the solutions we provide clients and further developing our business where necessary and appropriate
  • Execution of strategic initiatives launched centrally at all levels (Group, Bank, commercial market and EIB)
  • Networks with clients to identify avenues for new business opportunities;
  • Administrate the credit relationship of the client, coordinating and supervising the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bilingual (French and English). English proficiency is required as Citibank is looking to establish this business line (Commercial banking) in Montreal, and therefore no existing team may be leveraged to interface with Citi teams globally
  • Sound knowledge of banking and investment products and process as well as a track record of providing sound banking and financial advice and solutions to clients
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced credit skills; structures more complex deals, including global transactions
  • Demonstrates an expert level of Early Warning Detection skills
  • Demonstrates expert level credit skills; capable of structuring all credit deals and guiding staff through the credit deal approval process
  • Demonstrates advanced Citi's credit-process and credit-appetite knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively in team setting
  • Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership)
  • Ability to work under pressure while making sound decisions
  • Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities
  • Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business.
  • A proactive approach in looking for ways in strengthening business relationship with clients, delivers a simple, secure and seamless client experience
  • Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients
  • Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Masters degree preferred. CFA an asset.

Des habiletés développées en communication et en diplomatie sont requises afin de guider, influencer et convaincre les autres, notamment les collègues dans d'autres domaines et les clients externes occasionnels. Il est responsable des résultats opérationnels directs importants ou des conseils faisant autorité concernant les activités de l'entreprise. Ce poste exige un certain degré de responsabilité à l'égard de la stratégie technique. Principalement une sous-fonction. Le titulaire du poste est responsable de la gestion du personnel, incluant la gestion des ressources et de la répartition du travail au sein de l'équipe/projet.

Responsabilités:
  • Établir des listes de clients potentiels et conclure de nouvelles relations de gestion de prêt et de trésorerie pour la constitution de portefeuilles;
  • Inviter les clients à approfondir leurs relations et, de façon proactive, à posséder, à répondre, à découvrir et à anticiper les besoins, les obstacles, les attentes et les risques futurs;
  • Présenter des solutions aux clients pour bâtir et renforcer un portefeuille efficace;
  • Collaborer avec des spécialistes des produits et des spécialistes sur le sujet concerné afin de structurer des solutions innovatrices et personnalisées qui répondent aux besoins individuels des clients;
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec le gestionnaire de cas à l'intégration et à la fidélisation des clients, en veillant à ce que les livrables appropriés «Connaissez votre client» (KYC) et les autres livrables de conformité soient respectés;
  • Identifier les opportunités de ventes croisées pour approfondir et augmenter la part de portefeuille;
  • Maximiser l'expérience client en partageant de façon proactive les mises à jour sur les marchés, les tendances et les renseignements;
  • Stimuler l'innovation dans les solutions que nous offrons à nos clients et poursuivre le développement de nos activités lorsque nécessaire et approprié;
  • Mettre en œuvre des initiatives stratégiques lancées au niveau central à tous les niveaux (groupe, banque, marché commercial et BEI);
  • Réseauter avec les clients afin de repérer les nouvelles occasions d'affaires potentielles;
  • Administrer la relation de crédit du client, coordonner et superviser l'ensemble du processus, s'assurer de l'application adéquate des politiques et des processus institutionnels;
  • S'assurer en tout temps de la conformité aux exigences réglementaires et aux politiques et lignes directrices de Citi;
  • Évaluer adéquatement le risque lorsque des décisions d'affaires sont prises, en tenant compte particulièrement de la réputation de l'entreprise et en protégeant Citigroup, ses clients et ses actifs, en respectant les lois, les règles et les règlements applicables, en adhérant à la Politique, en faisant preuve d'un bon jugement éthique en ce qui concerne le comportement personnel, la conduite et les pratiques commerciales, et en relevant, en gérant et en signalant les problèmes de contrôle avec transparence.

Compétences:

  • Avoir plus de 10années d'expérience
  • Être bilingue (français et anglais). La maitrise de l'anglais est requise comme Citi cherche à mettre en place cette ligne d'affaire (banque commerciale) à Montréal. Il n'y a donc présentement pas ''équipe en place dont les membres pourraient interagir avec leurs collègues anglophones à l'échelle globale.
  • Avoir une connaissance approfondie des processus et des produits bancaires et d'investissement, ainsi que des conseils et des solutions bancaires et financiers judicieux que nous offrons à nos clients
  • Démontrer des compétences en crédit de niveau intermédiaire à avancé; en structure d'opérations plus complexes, y compris des opérations mondiales
  • Démontrer un niveau d'expertise en détection rapide
  • Démontrer des compétences spécialisées en matière de crédit; est capable de structurer toutes les opérations de crédit et de guider le personnel tout au long du processus d'approbation des opérations de crédit
  • Démontrer une connaissance approfondie des processus de crédit et de l'attrait de crédit de Citi
  • Avoir la capacité de travailler efficacement en équipe

Éducation:

  • Baccalauréat/diplôme universitaire , maîtrise préférée. Le titre de CFA est un atout.
