Mechanical Design & Product Design Engineer: We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Mechanical Design team. Collaborating closely with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers, you will play a crucial role in creating durable mechanical designs with a strong emphasis on quality and user experience. Your key responsibilities:
  • Define the aesthetics of new products.
  • Develop designs optimized for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Enhance internal product layout for optimal mechanical and thermal performance.
  • Evaluate and manage vendors through the part RFQ process.
  • Review engineering samples for validation.
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs, continuous improvement, and post-release support.
  • Engage in Project Management activities such as writing requirements documents, creating validation protocols, and collaborating with the PM to define tasks and deliverables.
  • Delegate tasks and assess the performance of junior team members.
About you:
  • Prior experience in designing consumer electronics or power electronics products.
  • Holding a degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Solidworks.
  • Familiarity with advanced Solidworks Pro/Premium features would be advantageous.
  • Knowledgeable in DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly).
  • Experience in thermal analysis and a methodical approach to work.
  • Skilled in prototype development, experimental planning, and result analysis.
  • Capable of producing high-quality drawings for production and quality control.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Previous work involving various materials and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience liaising with external suppliers, both local and overseas.
  • Understanding of material behavior and fabrication limitations.
  • Proficiency in supervising junior team members and working in diverse teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with a proactive attitude towards issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with product development processes and project management techniques.
