    Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • 1. Purchases required supplies for all departments. Liaises with departments to ascertain student needs and assembles supplies in bundles or kits. Monitors and adjusts stock levels during peak periods and practices justintime inventory to avoid overstocking.
  • 2. Maintains presentable product displays detailing and fronting product for proper selling position. Maintains proper signage on all displays.
  • 3. Ensures aisles are safe and free of obstructions and hazards.
  • 4. Receives delivery of merchandise (textbooks, software, duplicating), checks waybills, unpacks boxes, and checks for damage or discrepancies. Notifies suppliers of damaged or short shipments and ensures proper credit/replacement is received. Stamps and codes invoices for signoff.
  • 5. Affixes price labels on merchandise ensuring that items are scannable and correctly priced.
  • 6. Maintains filing system, enters information and tracks credits/paid and unpaid invoices ensuring factors affecting the price are properly highlighted.
  • 7. With prior approval organizes product returns to suppliers, liaises with buyers to discuss returns and packs items for shipping ensuring all boxes are properly labeled. Prepares waybills and contacts courier for pickup.
  • 8. Followsup on lost shipments and credits when required.
  • 9. Performs other related duties as required.
    Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 including up to 1 year of specialized training and 9 months' related experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.
  • Merchandising certificate.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and the general public.
  • Good customer service skills and the ability to function professionally and pleasantly during peak periods.
  • Good organizational and time management skills and the ability to organize duties effectively.
  • Ability to perform a variety of clerical duties, particularly those related to receiving procedures.
  • Ability to receive and process cash and credit card payments using the point of sales system.
  • Detailed oriented mindset and accurate data entry skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.

Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE

  • PAYGRADE 18: $1,625.53 to $1,885.58 biweekly.
