Ashland Construction Group Ltd.

has been proudly offering asphalt paving, concrete paving, precast concrete paving and snow removal services for civil infrastructure, institutional, industrial and commercial projects in Toronto and the GTA for over 35 years.

We are looking to fill the position of
Site Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Project Coordinators on construction activities including equipment and crew
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of project crews, construction trades and subcontractors
  • Schedule and order supplies and materials as required
  • Take corrective action to keep projects on time and on budget for multiple sites
  • Ensure clear understanding of scope, materials/equipment needed to complete the project as designed in construction drawings
  • Provide detailed instructions onsite to ensure schedule and quality control measures are maintained throughout the project
  • Collaborate with foremen to support crew and project needs
  • Deal with subcontractors, crews and equipment to meet scheduling requirements of project and delivery of materials to site
  • Monitor job progress and provide regular, detail progress reports to project managers and project coordinators
  • Maintain clean, professional and organized sites
  • Ensure compliance with the company and legislative Health & Safety training and reporting requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in road and parking lot construction, and construction supervision
  • Graduate of Civil or Construction Engineering degree program preferred
  • Comprehensive experience of road and parking lot construction: grading, paving and concrete
  • Exceptional understanding of municipal construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven decision making and problemsolving ability to provide effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with SiteDocs Safety Management Software is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills with solid time management and organizational skills
  • Excels in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Available and willing to travel around or outside the GTA to construction project sites
  • Valid Drivers licence
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and include a comprehensive health and medical benefit package.
