What you will do:


In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager, Planning, the Project Coordinator, Program Planning, New Carling Campus will provide leadership and coordination related to the physical development of the new Carling Campus.

The planning and construction of the new campus is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Ottawa's history, and will reshape health care in Ottawa.


The Project Coordinator will work directly with leaders representing the interprofessional team including physicians, senior leadership, managers, educators, and other health care providers/staff throughout the planning process to ensure organizational readiness as the project is executed, included but not limited to equipment planning, design development, building infrastructure and any other elements related to the successful development of the new campus.


What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in healthcare, engineering, business or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health related field;
  • Minimum 5 years project leadership experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Demonstrated project management experience, preferably in a health care setting;
  • Experience working with interprofessional teams including physicians, senior leadership, managers, educators, and other health care providers;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a strong patient and family centered care focus;
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Equipment Planning, Program Planning, Program Management, Hospital Design, Occupational Health and Safety, Facilities, Building and Infrastructure, Information, Communication and Automated Technology, and/or Quality and Performance Measurement, preferably in a Health Care Setting;
  • Indepth knowledge of hospital operations and health facility design;
  • Knowledge of integrating hospital systems with building infrastructure;
  • Demonstrated leadership of quality initiatives and/or coordination of hospital/interhospital projects;
  • Understanding of program management and operations related to the delivery of patient care service provision in an acute healthcare organization;
  • Proficient in computers and Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, Power BI;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and engage interprofessional groups independently;
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, combined with excellent organizational skills, with proven ability to achieve outcomes;
  • Strong people/project leadership skills, and ability to work in a teamoriented environment;
  • Strategic conceptual thinker, with the ability to integrate systems thinking into operations;
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with relevant stakeholders;
  • High level of problem solving and critical thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide detailed review and electronic management of multiple project documents;
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports as required.

You will stand out with:

  • Master's degree in healthcare, engineering, business or equivalent;
  • Project Management Certification;
  • Quality improvement training;
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Health Capital Approvals process or other provincial equivalents;
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, such as CSA Z8000, the Ontario Building Code or other provincial equivalent;
  • Experience and familiarity in the development of Project Specific Output Specifications (PSOS) and/or Facilities Management Output Specifications (FMOS) or other provincial equivalent;
  • Experience and familiarity in the integration of Information, Communication and Automated Technology (ICAT) with current TOH process.
