Senior Civil Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Analyze contract documents (drawings, specifications, contract deliverables, etc.) to prepare self-perform cost estimates for various projects such as earthworks, site development, road building, and detail excavation.
  • Create accurate and well-organized estimates for hard-bid, construction management, and design-build projects.
  • Perform quantity take-offs to determine materials needed.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors for quotes, assist in the buy-out process, and manage bid-related documentation.
  • Input cost estimates into bidding software efficiently.
  • Develop project schedules for accuracy and establish production rates.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain external pricing.
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate potential challenges, and foster relationships with sub-trades for future collaborations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with projects.
  • Participate in pretender meetings and site visits as required.
  • Collaborate with proposal and operations teams to develop execution plans, safety protocols, Indigenous Engagement Strategies, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Present estimates to management for review and approval.

Additional assets include 3+ years of civil construction experience, familiarity with B2W suite, and at least 8 years of estimating experience.
