Full-time, 9-month contract (July 2, March 31, 2025)

7:30 am - 3:00 pm

$20.07/hour

The Role:

This position supports our Meals on Wheels Program to deliver hot or frozen, tasty, and nutritious meals to help our clients stay healthy in their own homes.

• Assist in the packaging of desserts and hot meals
• Package frozen meals
• Perform daily tasks including telephone confirmations for meal cancellation, frozen meal orders and client troubleshooting
• Enter daily data into AlayaCare
• Bring carrier bags in from outside after deliveries, as returned by volunteers, and put them away
• Frequently deliver Meals on Wheels throughout Cambridge, Kitchener, North Dumfries and Waterloo, according to policies, ensuring client safety, and adhering to time sensitive deliveries
• Assist with route kits and labelling bags, when required
• Prepare items needed for the day's deliveries, such as hot packs, carrier bags, paper bags, tags, meal orders, birthdays and best before stickers, when required
• Perform emergency grocery shopping, as required
• Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned by the Manager, Meal Services

Education/Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Clean Driver's Abstract and daily access to safe, licensed, insured and reliable vehicle for businessrelated travel

Working Hours & Environment

• Monday to Friday
• Continuous standing, walking, pulling, bending, reaching and heavy lifting required
• Regular repetitive movement of wrists, eyestrain, and muscle fatigue
• Frequent computer and telephone use
