Responsibilities

The Measurement Mechanic will carry out the following tasks independently and handle all other duties associated with running the Measurement Shop on par with or lower complexity:

  • Perform repairs, adjustments, maintenance, and issuance of meters, auxiliary devices, and regulators;
  • Operate and understand all measurement equipment used for maintaining metering and regulation devices;
  • Analyze test data, determine necessary repairs and adjustments to ensure accurate performance while controlling repair costs;
  • Comply with all Quality Assurance program requirements in the shop;
  • Manufacture metering and regulation sub-assemblies;
  • Thoroughly complete all documentation accurately and neatly;
  • Support the Measurement Technician and the Measurement Shop Leader with tasks of similar or lower complexity as needed;
  • Provide guidance in training individuals in the learning phase of the role;
Requirements
  • High school diploma with Grade 11 in mathematics or physics, or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid BC Class 5 driver's license.
  • Ability to grasp the operation of gas metering and regulating equipment.
  • Develop and retain the necessary skills for the Measurement Mechanic role.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Display consistent safe work practices and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and placing materials and equipment.
  • Skills to become adept at operating a forklift and other material handling machinery.
  • Show initiative and accountability for quality.
