Do you have a strong passion for nursing? There's an exciting opportunity waiting for you We are looking for an energetic Registered Nurse who is committed to providing exceptional patient care to join our team at Northern Haida Gwaii Hospital.

Plans and delivers direct nursing care to patients following hospital policies and BCCNM standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, rotating

New Wage:

As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is: $59.52/hour

Northern Haida Gwaii Hospital is situated in Masset and is a four acute care bed hospital with one palliative care bed, four long-term care beds, and a four-unit assisted living complex. The hospital offers various services including emergency, lab, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, home and community care, primary care mental health, substance use services, chronic disease management, physiotherapy, and speech and language therapy. Visiting specialists cover Pediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Respirology, Rheumatology, Urology, and Ophthalmology.

Masset is a charming fishing village located on Graham Island with around 793 local residents and serving a surrounding population of 2300. Masset boasts a unique culture, stunning landscapes, and beautiful beaches. Explore the place where the ocean meets the shore and experience breathtaking sunsets.

Qualifications

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
  • Completion of All Specially Trained Nursing Skills (STN) related to the unit within six (6) months of employment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization of workload and setting priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various contacts including co-workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, and families.
  • Physical fitness for job duties.
  • Operation of related equipment.
