Reporting to the Retail Manager and Assistant Retail Manager, the Retail Shift Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the retail store on all shifts that they are assigned to work.

The primary focus of this individual is to provide retail employees with the direction and follow up necessary to ensure the retail experience is always friendly and the staff are efficient, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful.

In completing these tasks, it will be expected that the Retail Shift Supervisor lead and coach all other retail staff, either in place of a manager if not present, or in a supporting role under the direction of either the Assistant Retail Manager or the Retail Manager.


Working to support all levels of leadership in the retail environment, the Retail Shift Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all forms of planning used by management are enacted on a shift-to-shift basis.

Accountability for the actions of their team(s), while still under the overall vision of the Retail Manager, is key to their success in the role.

Through role modeling, coaching, guidance and direction, they serve as the first point of leadership for the retail team(s) to provide a brand setting experience for both employees and customers.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service on a consistent basis
  • Communicates effectively with Retail Managers regarding customer complaints, concerns or commendations
  • Manages and motivates the retail team to increase sales through service and efficiency
  • Promotes continuous improvement, operational efficiency and service consistency through training and employee development. Champions new ideas and initiatives in the store.
  • Ensures that the Company's high expectations for quality and service are fully met
  • Leads by example and by doing: actively participates in all retail activities including water testing, receiving orders, merchandising shelves and displays, product rotation, customer service, telephone answering, and completing sale transactions
  • Follows the plans laid out by the Retail Manager for operational growth and success.
  • Provides feedback to the Retail Manager regarding employee performance
  • Responsible for basic store maintenance duties and the maintenance of indoor and outdoor display areas to reflect a professional and inviting image; delegates as appropriate
  • Is able to problem solve challenging water tests and direct both customers and other staff members through the next steps to safely take
