Birchcliff is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Production Accountant to join the accounting department, reporting to the Production Accounting Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly reporting of assigned properties including oil, gas and NGL complex allocations.
  • Full cycle revenue accounting for assigned properties at each month end.
  • Ability to interpret and review property schematics and perform detailed analysis on assigned properties.
  • New property setups, configuration & maintenance.
  • Reconciling receivable accounts and booking adjusted financial entries.
  • Invoice coding.
  • Assist supervisor with various projects and analysis as needed.
  • Interact with required groups within the company to ensure smooth functioning & integration of PA tasks.
  • Work closely with operations staff to ensure that all operational changes are reported correctly.
  • Respond to both internal and 3rd party generated queries in a timely manner.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Must have CAPPA certification.
  • 8+ years of Production Accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • High attention to detail & driven to meet and exceed deadline expectations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel including, but not limited to pivot tables, formulas, etc.
  • Must have experience with full cycle reporting of Alberta operated gas plants.
  • Marketing accounting knowledge would be an asset.
  • Experience in the creation of vouchers in Envision or other financial systems.
  • Strong desire and ability to operate in a deadline driven environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Familiarity with PAS, PVR, Essbase Excel Add-in, Hyperion and Envision vouchers would be an asset.
  • A proven understanding & respect for a team environment.
  • Enthusiastic individual with good communication & interpersonal skills.
