Project Manager, FSS Transformation

Team and Location:

Salary:
$115,000/yr

Position Summary:


Reporting to the Manager, Process Improvement, this position plays a key role ensuring a successful transition to a Shared Services operating model for finance and other corporate functions across the geographies where Parkland operates.

This role is also key in supporting the design and development of future state business process that ensure business efficiency, effectiveness and scalability.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Manage the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closeout of transformation projects and initiatives ensuring close adherence to scope, budget and timelines to meet defined goals and outcomes
  • Monitor and coordinate dependencies across other initiatives within Parkland and resolve conflicts when required
  • Proactively communicate and report project/initiative status, progress, risks, issues and successes on a regular basis, using project management best practices and tools
  • Identify improvement/streamlining opportunities or challenges arising from project activities, and coordinate the execution of appropriate adjustments or corrective actions
Communications and Change Management

  • Work collaboratively with organizational change management (OCM) experts to ensure the design and execution of effective communication and change management strategies along with supporting communication methods and artifacts
  • Work with OCM to ensure a comprehensive stakeholder analysis and their corresponding change management strategies that address different stakeholders' needs
  • Support systematic rollout of transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work with cross functional teams and OCM to increase the success and adoption of changes
Business Process Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Facilitate workshops with multidisciplinary teams to develop current state process maps and identify process challenges and improvement opportunities
  • Develop narratives along with current and future state process maps following industry BPMS standards and best practices
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the use of continuous improvement, lean and six sigma tools
  • Identify and document operational issues in need of optimization and streamlining, and recommends the right approach, tools and methodologies to facilitate their solutioning
  • Work with multiple groups to identify business process improvements
  • Support the implementation of changes to execute efficiencies, eliminate redundancies and streamline workflows
  • Solve problems and recommend solutions to leadership teams
Service Management

  • Demonstrate service excellence attitude in all interactions with team members and clients
  • Build strong partnerships with different business groups and ensure internal clients consider the Project Manager, Transformation role as a key service provider to the organization
  • Ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements; Service Definitions, Performance Measurements, Internal Performance Ratings, and Customer Service Reviews
  • Sustain satisfactory interactions with all project stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills:

  • University education (bachelor's degree) in business, finance or related field
  • Educational focus in Communications or Business Transformation is an asset
  • 5 years of proven project management experience required
  • Project Management proven experience, certification/designation is mandatory
  • Change Management Certification (Prosci or similar) is preferred.
  • Experience as a business analyst and/or IIBA certification an asset.
  • 3 years of proven project experience in managing business transformation projects is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of training sessions and workshops
  • Experience in working in a work environment driven by strong SLA (Service Level Agreements)
