Director of Post Production

Purpose:
Why you're here at 9 Story Media Group

  • To work with the Supervising Online Editor/Colourist to deliver animated and/or live action episodes packaged and graded to the highest quality.
  • To provide a specialist role advising and implementing technical requirements impacting the post production departments. This includes working with the Director of Post to troubleshoot and resolve edit suite issues as well as other post production specific hardware and software solutions.

Delivery:
What you produce

  • Final packaged and onlined television episodes in adherence to client and 9 Story Distribution specifications
  • Identified and resolve technical problems in the Post Production Department
  • Generate Technical documentation e.g. workflow, infrastructure, technical bibles, etc.

  • Post Production
and Distribution technical capability

  • Feedback from Post Production Managers Supervisors and Staff
  • High quality, on schedule delivery of assigned episodes, within defined project scope

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements for the role: Things that help you do your job (what is essential & what is desirable)
Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of post production workflows and technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of broadcast standards, framerates, codecs and technical specifications.
  • Skilled in online editing and basic understanding of colour grading, understanding overall Post Production workflows.
Experience

  • Prior experience in a technical post production role.
  • Prior experience in an Online Editor and/or Packaging Editor role.
Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Davinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere software tool sets
  • Strongly proficient in Post Production hardware and software as currently appropriate to the studio's needs.
  • Experience with Vantage, Tachyon, Edit Share, LTO, MAM, Signiant a strong asset.
  • Strong applied use of Microsoft Office
