The Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.


Requirements:

  • Must have a Canadian work permit
  • Must be able to commute (1333 Rideau Ferry Road, Perth, Ontario, K7H 3C7)

Available shifts:

  • 10:30 pm to 6:30 am (7 shifts biweekly), weekend availability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner.
  • Complete scheduled care services required from the resident and document the completion of the assistance and care provided.
  • Assists with laundry as directed by the General Manager.
  • Cleans kitchen and dining room and sets tables in the dining room.
  • Administers medication to residents and maintains an active medication administration certificate (training to be provided by the retirement home)
  • Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team; assists with feeding, toileting, and ambulating residents.
  • Observes and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards, and safety regulations.
  • Assists and attends to the care needs of the residents as required.
  • Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  • Aware of employees' and supervisors' responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and residents.
  • Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations.
  • Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by the task, MSDS, or home policy.
  • Other related duties as assigned, such as keeping resident rooms clean and tidy, folding their clothes, and taking their temperature and weight.
