The Wisconsin Director ofConservation Science will have the opportunity to lead and grow TheNature Conservancy\'s applied science program capacity and identifyopportunities for collaboration with a wide range of conservationpartners working together to tackle the climate and biodiversity crisesfor the benefit of people and nature.

This role will require yourongoing commitment to embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, andjustice in your work and the work of the organization.


A typical weekwill include projects like:

Co-creating and deploying climate adaptationand resiliency projects Evaluating, implementing and communicating aboutan equitable clean energy transition, natural solutions for carboncapture and nature-based solutions to help nature and communities adaptto climate change Helping shape climate messages and coaching colleagueson strategic climate engagement Promoting the Conservancy\'s Resilientand Connected Network tool to select audiences Helping draft TNC\'spublic comments and positions on conservation priorities Partnering withcolleagues and partners on science/academic grants and publicationsServing on advisory teams such as Wisconsin Initiative on Climate ChangeImpacts Determining the Conservancy\'s role in public agency planningefforts WHAT YOU\'LL BRING BA/BS degree and 7 years\' experience inconservation practice or related field or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.

Supervisory experience, includingmotivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.
Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners,community groups and/or government agencies. Expertise and knowledge of current trends and practices inMidwestern aquatic or terrestrial systems or climate change.
Demonstrated experience communicating, influencing, developing andimplementing conservation science policy and plans. Ability to developpractical applications of scientific concepts and technical innovationsfor conservation purposes. Communicating clearly via written, spoken,and graphical means in English and other relevant languages, including atrack-record of peer-reviewed publications. Experience with developing adiversity of collaborations with a strong emphasis and proven experiencewith diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
