What is the Opportunity?
Under the direction of the Manager, Finance, the

Student, Finance will be responsible for providing financial and cost control support for various business units within the Utilities group.

Co-op length is

12-month co-op.

What You Will Do Here:

  • Assist in the timely financial close of the Company at each periodend
  • Assist in the timely financial close of the Company at each periodend
  • Assist with the development of the quarterly forecasts in concert with the respective department business partners
  • Investigate / analyze Corporate SG&A variances from budget/forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis working closely with business partners
  • Enhance the budgeting/forecasting and financial processes and support process improvement initiatives to achieve financial goals and improve efficiency and profitability
  • Assist in the external and internal audit; prepare schedules, analysis and supporting documents as requested by the auditors
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist Supply Chain Management with inquires or issues pertaining to Purchase Order, Receiving and Accounts Payable in SAP
  • Act as "Internal Auditor" assuring internal controls are being followed.
  • Assist with interim and yearend audit and reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain excel reporting models used for monthly and quarterly reporting;
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • Working towards accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA);
  • Currently enrolled in an accounting discipline or related business degree
  • Demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency by demonstrating the ability to shift priorities to accomplish objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Effectively manage time to keep commitments to both internal and external clients.
  • Communication excellent ability to clearly and effectively communicate information and clarify requirements both orally and in writing.
