We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Spatial Data & Analytics Manager who is accountable for advancing OLG's capabilities through spatial analytics and predictive modeling to support the achievement of key enterprise strategies.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Director, Business Analytics, you will be empowered to:

  • Develop and enhance OLG's location analytics using modern geospatial technologies and software solutions.
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand relevant business opportunities and propose analytics-based solutions to business challenges, often working and collaborating closely with other teams across the organization.
  • Oversee all enterprise GIS operations including database management and administration, data structure and metadata development, system administration, GIS software selection, implementation and user support, GIS project management, budgeting, education, and training.
  • Act as a key translator for explaining complex topics associated with spatial analytics such network analysis, feature analysis, geostatistical and business analysis.
  • Tactical and operational implementation of GIS components (Spatial Data & Analytics) for Corporate-wide and department initiatives (e.g., analysis, mapping, application configuration and deployment, geodatabase development, census variable and geography selections).
  • Identify and develop opportunities for reporting using standard web protocols that allow for the creation, management, and distribution of spatial data through web-based interfaces.
  • Provide technical, hands-on guidance and coaching to team members when developing location-based customer analytics, using demographic data and cross-functional solutions.
  • Conducts the design, configuration and development of new technology infrastructure solutions related to spatial data & analytics
  • Analyze existing systems to ensure they fulfill adequate performance and capacity requirements and are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.
  • Optimize GIS data workflows to automate ETL processes and increase speed of delivery for location analytics.
  • Advanced knowledge and communication of Canadian Census geography and demographic variables.
  • Lead the development of spatial based models to identify gaming market size and opportunity throughout Ontario, as well as generate insights to aid with strategic decision making.
  • Manage spatial technology vendor relationships including fostering capabilities to support effective enterprise GIS sourcing strategies, technology procurement, and technology vendor management in alignment with internal partners.
  • Leadership competencies, including the ability to: apply strategic agility, demonstrate business acumen, communicate, and build relationships, develop culture and people, drive innovative change, and be accountable for results are required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: 5-7 years of in depth geospatial analytical experience. Experience working with Esri ArcGIS geospatial technologies and web-based interfaces. Experience working with Hadoop and related big data technologies. Experience building, updating and explaining advanced prediction models. Experience wrangling, automating, and scripting disparate data sources to power analytical outputs.

Education: A University degree in business/commerce, geographic information systems, statistics, computer science, finance or mathematics. Knowledge of key languages and platforms such as: Esri ArcGIS, SQL, Hive, Python, Alteryx, PowerBI, and Excel.
